Overview
Scan Data is available with RetailzPOS. Scan Data is information that gets collected when a customer comes into a store to make a purchase. The barcode scanner will scan the product UPC and compile it into a report that is sent to your Tobacco Vendor/Distributors either Manually or Automatically once per week.
Access Scan Data #
- Select Scan Data from your store’s back office.
- A new window will open.
Scan Data Programs #
From the left-hand column, select Scan Data to open the Scan Data Programs list.
Scan Data is available only for tobacco products and supports Philip Morris (PMUSA), RJ Reynolds (RJRT), and ITG. Level 3 Scan Data is enabled for all customers.
Dashboard #
Tap on Dashboard.
- The dashboard displays insights on total sales for the month, the last six months, and the past year.
- You can submit and download specific reports in TXT or CSV format by selecting a date range.
Access Scan Data Sales Submit Report #
- From the Scan Data window, select Sales Submit.
Scan Data Sales Submit #
Scan Data Sales Submit will provide you with a Dashboard of all of your reports that have been sent back to your Tobacco Distributor. These reports will automatically be sent, but you can also perform a Manual Report Submission.
Return Amount #
- Hover over a report and select the Green Return button.
- Input the Return Amount.
- Select Submit to apply changes to the Scan Data report.
Access Report #
- Hover over a report and select the Blue Report button.
Scan Data Report #
The Scan Data report will open for viewing.
Download Report #
You can Download or Export the Scan Data report by selecting either function.
Add Items to a Scan Data Program #
Scan Data is a type of promotion based around your tobacco products in store. In order to make a product eligible for Scan Data in store, you must apply the scan data company to the products.
Products #
Select Products from the Back Office.
Items #
Once the dropdown menu of Products opens, select Items.
Search Items #
Search for the item you want to add to the Scan Data program.
List of Searched items #
- The list of searched items will display.
Edit Item #
Select the Edit button when hovering over the item.
Item Features
Item Details will display on your screen.
General Information
Once the item details appear, select General.
Scan Data Type
Open the Scan Data Type dropdown.
List of Scan Data Types
Select the Scan Data Company to apply to the item:
- ITG
- PMUSA
- RJRT
Save Changes
Click Save to successfully apply Scan Data to the item.
Scan Data Eligible Items #
Scan Data Items are going to be the list of Items/Products in your business that will be eligible for any Scan Data Promotions and Data Collection. Your Tobacco Distributor will be able to provide you with a list of all items/products eligible.
Access PMUSA Item List #
From the Scan Data window, select PMUSA Items, RJRT Items, or ITG Items.
Item List #
Your active Scan Data Item list will display based on your selected program:

Filter Items #
Select the Filter button to apply a Custom Filter on promotion targets.
Select Promotion Target #
Input your Promotion Target.
Input your Target Name.
Select Submit to save the Scan Data Promotion Target.
List of Filtered Items #
The system displays the results based on the filter criteria.
